The Labour Party gave millions to the Mongrel Mob

This is in reference to a police authorised grant from the Proceeds of Crimes Act (not the general tax take) to a drug rehab program run by a consultancy called Hard to Reach which was founded by Harry Tam, a life long Mob member and former public servant and run in conjunction with public health expert Angie Wilkinson.

The program was vetted by Police, the Ministry of Justice and Treasury - all of whom agreed this was an above board undertaking garnering results with Marae-based live-in rehab programs for meth addiction and trauma issues.

Six months after finishing the program, participants had a 92% abstention rate from further drug use, one of the most successful rates recorded. This was also funded by the Proceeds of Crime Fund, not general tax payer revenue.
