Three decades of research consistently finds military-style boot camps have no meaningful impact on recidivism and are incompatible with genuine rehabilitation, producing no significantly better outcomes than traditional incarceration facilities. New Zealand's own Military-Style Academy pilot bore this out: seven of the ten young offenders who went through it reoffended, according to Oranga Tamariki.
