Wynston Peters informed twitter trolls and right wing media of Stuart Nash's resignation before the public or PM

Peters was under no obligation to inform the Prime Minister of the resignation of an NZ First candidate. Nash was not a sitting minister in the coalition.

RNZ reported that Peters confirmed on social media "late on Wednesday night" (22 July) that Nash had resigned and his resignation had been accepted. Luxon separately posted to rule out Nash serving as a minister in any government he leads.

Looking at the timeline on social media, this could be an indicator of the claim;

7:41pm : Oliver Plunket publicly asserted the resignation
9:24pm : Luxon points out that if this is true, "I am making clear he will not serve as a minister in my government."
10:47pm : Peters announced that the resignation was accepted

While there is no conclusive evidence that Peters informed anyone else before the public or the PM, it is clear that someone did.
